Welcome to Tehatta Sub-Division

Tehatta Sub-Division is the newest and northern most Sub-Division of Nadia District.It was formed in the year 1996. The total area covered under the Sub-Division is 871 sq km with a population 7,95,268Lakhs (As per 2011 census). Agriculture is the main source of income for most of the people in the Sub Division. Main agriculture products are jute, vegetables, banana, betel vine and paddy. There is no industry in this Sub-Division.

Office of Sub-Division Land and Land Reforms Officer, Sub-Divisional Agriculture Office, Sub-Divisional Controller of Food and Supply, Sub-Divisional Horticulture Office, Sub-Divisional Information and Cultural Office and Divisional Manager's Office of WBSEDCL are there in the Sub-Division level. Courts of A.D.J.(Fast Track ), Civil Judge(Junior Division),A.C.J.M., Courts of other Judicial Magistrates are there at the Sub-Division.Most of the above offices don't have their own building and are housed in various hired buildings.
Tehatta Sub-Division shares boundary in the south and west with Sadar Sub-Division of Nadia District, in the north with Murshidabad District and in the east, International Border with Bangladesh. The length of the International Border is 95 km, of which 9 km is unfenced.
